Overseas applicants

The procedures of getting student visa in Japan:

  1. Choose your plan, then contact us
  2. Collect all required documents
  3. Kanrin submits your documents to the immigration office
  4. Announce the result of COE (Certificate of Eligibility)
  5. Pay tuition fee
  6. Apply for VISA at Embassy of Japan in your country
  7. Get a flight ticket and come to Japan

Documents to be prepared by the applicant

  1. Application form*
  2. Personal records *
  3. Family list *
  4. Certificate which shows your current occupation (letter of employment or letter of school Application).
  5. Diploma or certificate of graduation from the last school attended
  6. Transcript from the last school attended
  7. Photos (3 x 4 cm) x 6
  8. Copy of the passport and stamped pages if you've ever been to Japan
  9. Birth certificate which shows the relationship with the guarantor
  10. Japanese study record

Documents to be prepared by the guarantor (your parents or close relative)

In case the guarantor doesn’t live in Japan

  1. Financial commitment statement*
  2. Letter of employment 
  3. Income certificate
  4. Bank balance (base amount of JPY3,000,000 or US$30000)
  5. Bank book copies (*for the particular countries)
  6. Document certifies relationship with the applicant (birth certificate etc.) 

In case the guarantor lives in Japan

  1. Financial commitment statement*

  2. Letter of employment 
  3. Document which certifies the annual income (Kazei shoumeisho)
  4. Bank balance (base amount of JPY3,000,000 or US$30000) 
  5. Bank book copies for one year (*for the particular countries)
  6. The voting poll (Juminhyou) with all family member’s names included or certificate of Alien Registration 
  7. Certificate of the seal impression 
  8. Document certifies relationship with the applicant (birth certificate etc.)
